Lower Manhattan Historic Scavenger Hunt | Financial District Team Building Activity

Private, fully hosted team competitions. Puzzle-driven pen & paper games in the real world.

Inside the Hunt

Step into the birthplace of New York City — where the Dutch founded New Amsterdam, the Revolutionary War shaped the nation, and the U.S. government was born. Our Lower Manhattan Historic scavenger hunt launches you into the crossroads of American history — the perfect setting for a fast-moving, competitive adventure.

Your group forms teams and sets out from Evacuation Day Plaza, just steps from Bowling Green and the Charging Bull. From there, the hunt unfolds across the Financial District as teams navigate storied pathways, uncover fascinating details, and piece together clues drawn from the city itself.

Lower Manhattan's Hidden Stories

Along the way, you’ll explore Battery Park memorials, trace the origins of Wall Street, behold Federal Hall, venture through Castle Clinton’s massive stone ramparts, and follow clues to Fraunces Tavern and Trinity Church — where the past feels close enough to touch.

What You’ll Discover

  • NYC’s first public park, a famously strange lease, a well-known good-luck ritual, the Canyon of Heroes, and a British soldier’s final act of defiance.
  • The site of the original 1653 wall, the Buttonwood Agreement, Washington’s inauguration, and the foundations of America’s financial system.
  • Tributes to WWII sailors, Revolutionary War officers, merchant mariners, and innovative ship-builders.
  • Manhattan’s last defensive fort, a gateway for millions of immigrants, and a structure that has reinvented itself many times.
  • Colonial tavern remnants, archaeological finds, early churches and printing presses, Dutch names, and cobblestone lanes frozen in time.
  • Alexander Hamilton’s final resting place, American pioneers, prophetic inscriptions, and the roots of an Ivy League institution, and much more!
  • Creative moments that capture your team in action — historic reenactments, iconic poses, spontaneous performances, and surprises along the way.

The action wraps up at Zuccotti Park, where we tally the scores and crown the winners. Teams walk away energized, connected, and eager to share their discoveries.
