Fortunes of the Flatiron District Scavenger Hunt | Team Building from NoMad to Union Square

Private, fully hosted team competitions. Puzzle-driven pen & paper games in the real world.

Inside the Hunt

Navigate New York’s Gilded Age — where tycoons built castles in the sky, the first skyscrapers defied gravity, and public squares became stages for progress. Our Fortunes of the Flatiron District scavenger hunt propels you through a neighborhood built on ambition and spectacle — the perfect arena for some friendly competition!

Your group forms teams and sets out from Madison Square Park, just steps from the Flatiron Building and MetLife Tower. The hunt unfolds as you venture into grand lobbies, culinary halls, and wave to the ghost of William Seward as you go!

Flatiron's Hidden Stories

Along the way, sneak into the New York Life Building, see where the first-ever public Christmas tree was dedicated and explore the worlds of Eataly and Harry Potter. Trace your way down historic Broadway to Union Square, where workers and presidents left their mark

What You’ll Discover

  • Meet Civil War hero David Glasgow Farragut, discover a Worthy obelisk, and the birthplace of Shake Shack.
  • Examine the Appellate Division Courthouse, its Holocaust memorial inscriptions, allegorical figures, and warnings to future generations.
  • Weave through Eataly and find real-deal cheese wheels, Italian flour power, and culinary wisdom.
  • Investigate the iconic Flatiron Building — the triangular marvel that skeptics said would collapse and instead changed architecture forever.
  • Cast spells on your Muggle teammates! It’s “leviOsa,” not “levioSA!” Maybe even buy a chocolate frog.
  • Peek into Old Town Bar — a haunted pub with ghosts of all kinds and some feisty bartenders too.
  • Scout Union Square where sidewalk monuments and maps of antiquity tell tales of workers, presidents, and revolutionaries, and much more!
  • Creative challenges — Regal performances, food critic reviews, supernatural encounters, and sorting ceremonies.

The hunt concludes at Washington’s statue in Union Square, where we tally the scores and crown the winners. Teams walk away energized, connected, and eager to share their discoveries.
