Maarten26 August 2026Our team of 8 people had a great time doing the scavenger hunt at Grand Central. Everybody enjoyed it! Communication was super and we met our Guide, Leigh, right on time for the event. Leigh was great, gave clear instructions, and took a few candid pics during the hunt. We split up in two teams of four people which was a perfect number. The hunt was well designed. The clues were good (not too difficult and not too easy) and we saw a lot of aspects of Grand Central that we would have never noticed if we had just walked through.Posted on Google

YY Chen21 July 2026Office Summer Outing of ~35 people! Our group of about 35 people had a fantastic time on the Wonders of Williamsburg tour, with Walter as our engaging host. As promised, the Hunt was mostly analog, with clues located on the outside and sometimes inside of various businesses on a meandering route through Williamsburg. I loved that they were mostly small businesses and that most clues could be solved within 15 seconds or so, which kept the Hunt moving at fast clip. We were asked for members of each team to join a communal whatsapp group, to upload photos/videos that fulfilled certain challenges. The weather was beautiful but edging into almost too hot & sunny for a 2-hour Hunt where you’re in almost constant motion. Our group ages range from 19 to 79 and everyone enjoyed themselves! We booked a private hunt for a group of 26 to celebrate a milestone birthday, and everything exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to our guide, Walter, who was witty, engaging, and kept our large group entertained from start to finish. We were especially impressed by the company’s flexibility and outstanding communication. With the weather forecast changing, they worked closely with us to adjust our meeting location and ensure the event could still go ahead smoothly. Their responsiveness and willingness to accommodate us made the planning process completely stress-free. Even though many of us have spent countless hours in this part of New York City, we were amazed by how many interesting facts and hidden stories we learned about places we thought we already knew. Thank you for an amazing experience. If you are a teacher and wish to do something fun with your students, I would absolutely recommend booking a museum scavenger hunt at the Museum of Natural History with Secret City Scavenger Hunts. Our 10th graders had so much fun going through the museum on their adventure. Booking with Jared was seamless; his level of professionalism, attention to detail, and kindness made this process a joyful experience. Our guide, Laura K., is truly delightful. Laura is extremely knowledgable, great with communication, and has so much energy! Teachers, camp leaders, youth group leaders: this is the perfect way to book a tour of the museum so you do not have to worry about which exhibits might be closed or trying to figure out how to make the most of your museum time because Secret City guides are at the experts - easiest field trip ever! The questions were thoughtfully designed to make you truly engage with the exhibits — and with no phones allowed, it felt like a real adventure. From start to finish, the experience was engaging, exciting, and full of energy for both our students and chaperones. Danielle Cummings12 March 2026Had such a blast. Local New Yorkers said they realized how little they knew about their own city. As someone who loves to walk around staring up at the buildings and reading the plaques, I was living my best life!! The competition fuels you to move at a quick clip, but the SoHo hunt was so fun and beautiful. There's really not enough time to stop and eat on the hunt haha so be prepared to flag things in your map that you want to return to! But it was just so much fun to work as a team running around and figuring things out. I went with friends to celebrate my ten year anniversary in the city, and afterwards we were all buzzing about how perfect and unique it was. Here's hoping I can do it again someday! Thom, our guide, was so warm and genuine and I was grateful for his kind, positive energy. Also had an awesome experience with the customer support in planning from the beginning; they're willing to work with you to make sure you and your group have the best time, and even to adjust if weather changes the week of!! Our UN team had so much fun and could not stop talking about how enjoyable and well organized the activity was. It was a fantastic bonding experience and we even got a great workout at the same time which was a wonderful bonus. Leslie Asare21 October 2025As one of the activities at my daughter’s College Family & Alumni Day, we stumbled upon this hidden gem – the Secret City Scavenger Hunt at Grand Central Terminal in NYC. We didn’t know what to expect, but we were in for an unforgettable adventure! From the start, Jared from Secret City was incredibly helpful and patient, answering all my questions. On the big day, we met Laura, who was as warm as she was organized, making sure we knew exactly how the game worked and building up the excitement! The challenge? Two hours, 60 quirky questions, photos to snap, and a mystery puzzle to solve – all within the majestic Grand Central Terminal. And trust me, once the clock started ticking, we were off and racing! What made it even more exciting was the fact that, as a native New Yorker, I got to experience this iconic landmark in a completely new way. Instead of rushing through it like I normally would, I was stopping to soak in the beauty and history hidden in plain sight. It was truly eye-opening! But be warned – this scavenger hunt is no walk in the park! It’s a full-throttle race to the finish, so if you’re not a fan of walking or need to take it slow, it might be a bit intense. But if you're up for a challenge, it’s perfect for team-building! Whether you're with family, friends, high school groups, or even coworkers, it’s a fantastic bonding experience. Plus, since it’s indoors, it’s an awesome activity rain or shine, winter or summer! My advice? Dawne Dionisio31 October 2024I took a group of high school young ladies and chaperones to NYC to do the Central Park scavenger hunt. This was my 2nd booking with Secret City. Our first trip included the Grand Central Terminal hunt. In comparing the two… Central Park was amazing because, well, it’s Central Park! It was beautiful weather, everybody was having an amazing time but it was soooo long. It didn’t seem possible and everybody complained about sore bodies. I loved this hunt so much but would just advise to scale it down a bit, try not to cover so much ground. That is what the Grand Central one had over the Central Park. A smaller amount of land to cover. Loved the Central Park one, just cut some or one or two areas of the park out!!!! Fabulous time!!Posted on Google
Alyssa Dolman17 September 2024We had celebrated a friends 55th birthday in Vegas last March, and this Scavenger Hunt was our gift to her. We actually played a game while in Vegas to give her options to choose from, and this was her choice. I made a great choice by choosing Secret City to fulfill this gift for our friend. We chose to do the Central Park Hunt, and we had perfect weather for a day in the park. Little did we know that we would be getting a workout in, but what an amazingly fun, and amazing day! We were all New Yorkers, but not all city people, and it gave us a chance to see parts of the park that you don't necessarily see. The clues/questions were smart, challenging, and fun, and the other surprise challenges were even more fun. We had so many people in the park asking us about what we were doing, and envying the fun time we were having. All in all a 10 out of 10, and would highly recommend this! Danielle C26 August 2024Fun with a group of fast-walking friends!! Had such an amazing time! Came with friends to do the SoHo hunt to celebrate ten years in NYC. Local NYers afterwards gushes about how cool it was and how little they knew about their own city. We all had so much fun rushing around. Flag food spots - no time to stop! But the competition gives you fuel and the information is super interesting. Everyone loved it and talked about how unique and fun it was! Their team is super willing to work with you and communicate, and our guide the day-of, Thom, was such a warm, positive energy. May G16 August 2024It was great experience anticipating Secret City’s scavenger hunting event. They design the game in a great way with team pictures, videos and word games. Throughout the hunting, we have to find hidden clues behind murals, statues and city signs. By following each delicately designed questions, we walked on the street, in the buildings, up and downstairs, and sometimes get help from local residents or securities for each answers, entered shops that we would never got a chance to enter, explored the magnificent city history and fascinating stories. It was a fun game and I will do it again for my next visit to NY!Posted on Google

The activity was engaging, challenging enough to keep it interesting but not too challenging that we couldn't figure anything out, and took a full two hours. As long time New Yorkers, we saw parts of the museum we'd never seen before, and we learned a lot along the way! No app was needed, this was a checklist/clipboard hunt and truly generated good collaboration among the team - plus we each learned so much about various historical places within NYC. The service that Jared and his team provided was excellent - very communicative, checking in and they even took pictures of the group so we had some keepsake moments from our team building activity. Angel Kho29 April 2024Jared and Walter organized a fun and engaging scavenger hunt around Central Park which sparked friendly competition in me and my groups of friends! I was worried that the game would comprise of a lot of trivia that I wouldn’t be able to answer but it was all generally easy to follow including solving the puzzle at the end. We set the expectation with Secret City and our friends that the team my husband and I will be in will probably be slow and may not even be able to finish the full 2 hour competition as we were bringing our 8.5 month old with us. Our team was able to finish in 2nd place speed wise but with two mistakes, we came in 3rd to two other friend groups who both had perfect scores. They all told me how much fun they had and that it was a great birthday event idea! We were also lucky that the weather was on our side! We highly recommend Secret City for organizings similar fun and active events for a special occasion or just because you want to try something different. Our group had originally tried to reserve with another company but this was cancelled 5 days before our event. Jared was kind, informative and really helpful with making recommendations for what would fit our group and event timing, plus was super accommodating with everything. The coordinator, Jared, responded very quickly and was very communicative throughout the entire booking process. We got paired with the host, Walter, who was a delight and took photos of our team during the hunt. I'm so glad he did that- we now have some funny photos to reminisce on. Throughout the hunt, we learned so many things about the area while engaging in some wholesome competition ;) This activity took a little over 2 hours and definitely included some running (if you want to win), so be prepared with water and proper shoes! Tora Shea22 May 2023We booked for a corporate event for ~14 people, so we ended up with 3 teams. Some folks were a bit suspicious of the idea of a scavenger hunt to start, but everyone had a great time. We did Legends of the village. The way it was set up had us going around a concentrated area which was great because we interacted with other teams along the way, as well as working with our own team. The clues were just the right level- the only comment was that one question didn't apply, it would have been nice to have that removed for our start time. The host was super friendly and funny. It's a LOT of walking, 4 miles by the end of the hunt and we were glad to relax at the NYU pubs after.Posted on Google

Karen Smith5 December 2022I was attending a meeting in NY with my team and we knew we'd be in an office for several days, so we needed to get out! I found Secret City online and booked our Rockefeller Center hunt. I was told that it might be crazy since it was the day before the tree lighting however we decided to go for it. So glad we did! Laura greeted us and was pleasant and so patient (one of our teammates was delayed flying in). They allowed us to do a timed hunt since we were a small group. Although everyone was not able to make the date, those that did had an awesome, fun filled day. The hunt in the Meatpacking District definitely put a few miles on our sneakers, but was intresting, we learnt a few facts along the way & found out just how competive everyon can be!! It was hot but the team building was a wonderful experience. Some of the questions were very challenging. Our only suggestions would be possibly reduce the number of questions by a few and ensure points are deducted if the teams don’t follow directions (i.e. if they split up the questions and the teams). While we had originally scheduled a hunt in October 2021 for Central Park, we had to reschedule. Secret City Scavenger Hunts could not have been more accommodating: they are easy to communicate with and very responsive. Laura was our point of contact for the hunt day-of and she made it so much fun! The youth loved running around the station and learning about all the secrets of old NYC and its famed train terminal. I was happy that everyone in our group heeded Secret City's advice and wore comfortable shoes. The course is very logically thought out in terms of time and distance, and the challenges were just the right mix of not quite easy to difficult. We were visiting NYC from California and over our 4 days in the city we: climbed to the crown of the Statue of Liberty, went to One World Observatory, Top of the Rock, School of Rock the musical and more and for many of us, the scavenger hunt was the highlight of the trip. We met up with them at the start time of the race. They gave an overview and explained what to expect during the hunt. My team and I found that we learned a lot during the race about the financial district area. Although we work there we don't have much time to enjoy the area or take in the sights. Jennifer H.11 May 2015My experience with Secret City was unbelievably seamless and beyond successful. My company hired Secret City to organize a 250 employee NYC Scavenger Hunt. From the beginning, we worked directly with Jared Nissim (creator of Secret City) to personalize the hunt to our immediate area (walkable radius) and include photo challenges/blurbs that incorporated our company's history. Prior to the live event, Secret City recommended a trial run with a small group (myself included) to capture any possible kinks/final feedback. We had a great experience and found ourselves competing to win. The day of the Scavenger Hunt, Jared and his team arrived at the start to introduce the Scavenger Hunt guidelines and remind everyone to be safe and have fun. Since the hunt, we have received praise over how much fun the trip was and the team bonding as a result has only strengthened. Pas de questions faciles, mais plutôt des questions bien songées, qui reflètent l'attention au détail des organisateurs.
