Our team of 8 people had a great time doing the scavenger hunt at Grand Central. Everybody enjoyed it! Communication was super and we met our Guide, Leigh, right on time for the event. Leigh was great, gave clear instructions, and took a few candid pics during the hunt. We split up in two teams of four people which was a perfect number. The hunt was well designed. The clues were good (not too difficult and not too easy) and we saw a lot of aspects of Grand Central that we would have never noticed if we had just walked through.

Our large team of 60+ had the BEST time with Secret City Scavenger Hunts! Super organized, worked with us for months setting everything up. We were even able to pivot (EASILY!) day of when rain was in the forecast. Thanks to Jared and team for an amazing event!

Office Summer Outing of ~35 people! Our group of about 35 people had a fantastic time on the Wonders of Williamsburg tour, with Walter as our engaging host. As promised, the Hunt was mostly analog, with clues located on the outside and sometimes inside of various businesses on a meandering route through Williamsburg. I loved that they were mostly small businesses and that most clues could be solved within 15 seconds or so, which kept the Hunt moving at fast clip. We were asked for members of each team to join a communal whatsapp group, to upload photos/videos that fulfilled certain challenges. The weather was beautiful but edging into almost too hot & sunny for a 2-hour Hunt where you’re in almost constant motion. Our group ages range from 19 to 79 and everyone enjoyed themselves! Thank you Secret City for great communication leading up to and at our event!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Secret City Scavenger Hunts! We booked a private hunt for a group of 26 to celebrate a milestone birthday, and everything exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to our guide, Walter, who was witty, engaging, and kept our large group entertained from start to finish. We were especially impressed by the company’s flexibility and outstanding communication. With the weather forecast changing, they worked closely with us to adjust our meeting location and ensure the event could still go ahead smoothly. Their responsiveness and willingness to accommodate us made the planning process completely stress-free. Even though many of us have spent countless hours in this part of New York City, we were amazed by how many interesting facts and hidden stories we learned about places we thought we already knew. It was the perfect mix of fun, teamwork, history, and discovery. If you’re looking for a unique group activity—whether for a birthday, corporate event, or just a fun day with friends—I can’t recommend Secret City Scavenger Hunts highly enough. Thank you for making our celebration so memorable!

This is our second year booking with Secret City! We had another amazing Museum Scavenger Hunt at the Museum, so I am happy to repost this review. Thank you for an amazing experience. If you are a teacher and wish to do something fun with your students, I would absolutely recommend booking a museum scavenger hunt at the Museum of Natural History with Secret City Scavenger Hunts. Our 10th graders had so much fun going through the museum on their adventure. Booking with Jared was seamless; his level of professionalism, attention to detail, and kindness made this process a joyful experience. Our guide, Laura K., is truly delightful. Laura is extremely knowledgable, great with communication, and has so much energy! Teachers, camp leaders, youth group leaders: this is the perfect way to book a tour of the museum so you do not have to worry about which exhibits might be closed or trying to figure out how to make the most of your museum time because Secret City guides are at the experts - easiest field trip ever! We cannot wait to book another scavenger hunt. Jared and Laura, you are the best!

We did Secret City’s scavenger hunt at the Museum of Natural History for a birthday celebration with 10 friends and had an absolute blast. The questions were thoughtfully designed to make you truly engage with the exhibits — and with no phones allowed, it felt like a real adventure. It worked beautifully for all ages, and we’re already planning our next location. Highly recommend! James was top notch and had us engaged the whole time. It was finding him around the museum (it was like playing where is Waldo.)

Our team had a great time at this event - it was very well planned and just challenging enough. Our host Linda did a great job organizing everything the day of the event, and Jared was also very responsive and helpful with handling the event coordination. Would definitely recommend as a team building event!!

The Hermanitas of Kennett High School had an incredible time with Secret City Scavenger Hunts at Grand Central Terminal! From start to finish, the experience was engaging, exciting, and full of energy for both our students and chaperones. A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts, Julie, Lisa, and James, who were not only fun but also incredibly accommodating with our time constraints. Their flexibility and enthusiasm made the entire experience run smoothly. The students had an amazing time working together, solving challenges, and exploring one of NYC’s most iconic landmarks in such a unique way. Special thanks to Jared for guiding me in choosing the perfect hunt for our group. Jared, you truly helped make this experience a success! I took a group of high school young ladies and chaperones to NYC to do the Central Park scavenger hunt. This was my 2nd booking with Secret City. Our first trip included the Grand Central Terminal hunt. In comparing the two… Central Park was amazing because, well, it’s Central Park! It was beautiful weather, everybody was having an amazing time but it was soooo long. It didn’t seem possible and everybody complained about sore bodies. I loved this hunt so much but would just advise to scale it down a bit, try not to cover so much ground. That is what the Grand Central one had over the Central Park. A smaller amount of land to cover. Loved the Central Park one, just cut some or one or two areas of the park out!!!! Fabulous time!!

It was great experience anticipating Secret City’s scavenger hunting event. They design the game in a great way with team pictures, videos and word games. Throughout the hunting, we have to find hidden clues behind murals, statues and city signs. By following each delicately designed questions, we walked on the street, in the buildings, up and downstairs, and sometimes get help from local residents or securities for each answers, entered shops that we would never got a chance to enter, explored the magnificent city history and fascinating stories. It was a fun game and I will do it again for my next visit to NY!

Fantastic way to celebrate a birthday or special events with friends. Jared and his team did an amazing job of putting a fun filled scavenger hunt together for our group! The clues, puzzzle solving and videos were an intriguing way to learn fun facts about neighborhoods in NYC, histical and current facts and have fun solving clues together in a friendly but competitive activity!! I highly recommend Secret City scavenger hunts

Great experience during the Midtown scavenger hunt. The questions were tough enough to make it a real competition for the group. Everyone had a great time and I highly recommend Secret City. Great communication and cool way to spend time learning new things.

The Family Center Youth Advisory Board thoroughly enjoyed our scavenger hunt in GCT this past February 2022. While we had originally scheduled a hunt in October 2021 for Central Park, we had to reschedule. Secret City Scavenger Hunts could not have been more accommodating: they are easy to communicate with and very responsive. Laura was our point of contact for the hunt day-of and she made it so much fun! The youth loved running around the station and learning about all the secrets of old NYC and its famed train terminal. I was happy that everyone in our group heeded Secret City's advice and wore comfortable shoes. It's only a two hour hunt but you will need refreshments afterwards and trust me: you will sleep well after all the fun of a Secret City Scavenger Hunt!

We had an AMAZING time with Secret City! The Director, Jared, was very helpful and responsive from day 1 of trying to plan an event for a bigger group. Krista and Laura met us at the starting point and we did the Legends of the Village hunt. The hunt was amazing, the clues were interesting and we learned a lot about the area. Had such a blast. Local New Yorkers said they realized how little they knew about their own city. As someone who loves to walk around staring up at the buildings and reading the plaques, I was living my best life!! The competition fuels you to move at a quick clip, but the SoHo hunt was so fun and beautiful. There's really not enough time to stop and eat on the hunt haha so be prepared to flag things in your map that you want to return to! But it was just so much fun to work as a team running around and figuring things out. I went with friends to celebrate my ten year anniversary in the city, and afterwards we were all buzzing about how perfect and unique it was. Here's hoping I can do it again someday! Thom, our guide, was so warm and genuine and I was grateful for his kind, positive energy. Also had an awesome experience with the customer support in planning from the beginning; they're willing to work with you to make sure you and your group have the best time, and even to adjust if weather changes the week of!! I'd recommend this to anyone!!
