Scavenger Hunts for Every Kind of Group—Recent Highlights from Secret City NYC
No matter the size of your company or the work you do, team building is essential. In NYC, there are plenty of choices—but if you want an experience your group will actually remember, Secret City Scavenger Hunts is the one to book.
Just this week, we had three completely different organizations come together for team building adventures:
Clifford Chance at Chelsea Market
Clifford Chance is a leading global law firm with offices in more than 30 countries, advising many of the world’s largest corporations, financial institutions, and governments. But even high-powered attorneys need to step away from their screens and connect in real life.
Their team joined us for the Chelsea Market Challenge—an immersive scavenger hunt in one of NYC’s most iconic food and shopping destinations. The lawyers and staff of Clifford Chance left the legal briefs behind and dove headfirst into puzzles, food-themed challenges, and team-driven problem solving. We watched as their strategic thinking and negotiation skills translated from the boardroom to the bustling hallways of Chelsea Market, with plenty of laughs (and maybe a little healthy competition) along the way.
Team building for law firms isn’t just a “nice to have”—it sharpens communication, builds trust, and lets everyone see each other’s strengths in action. At Clifford Chance, teamwork isn’t just for legal cases; it’s for everyday success.
Novartis at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
Novartis is a global leader in pharmaceuticals, focused on reimagining medicine to improve and extend people’s lives. From life-saving therapies for heart failure and cancer, to groundbreaking treatments in immunology and neuroscience, Novartis is at the cutting edge of scientific innovation.
But today, they swapped lab coats for curiosity caps at our Metropolitan Museum of Art Scavenger Hunt. Their staff worked together to unlock clues hidden among ancient artifacts and world-famous works of art. It was inspiring to see a group that normally solves the mysteries of the human body tackle the mysteries of the museum, using collaboration, creativity, and fresh perspectives.
For a company built on innovation and teamwork, an NYC scavenger hunt offers a fresh reminder that the best discoveries often happen when people step outside their usual environment and work together in new ways.
Rutgers University in Lower Manhattan
Rutgers University is one of America’s oldest and most respected public research universities, with a proud tradition of academic excellence, diversity, and community engagement. Their students and staff are used to tackling big questions and learning both inside and outside the classroom.
We hosted Rutgers for our Lower Manhattan Historic Hunt—a journey through the winding streets, hidden landmarks, and legendary history of downtown NYC. The Rutgers group split into teams, exploring sites from colonial times to the present day, solving puzzles, and building new friendships along the way.
Whether it’s for orientation, alumni engagement, or just a break from the books, team building activities like scavenger hunts help students and staff connect, communicate, and build memories that last far beyond graduation.
Why Team Building in NYC?
Whether you’re a global company, a local school, or a team of creative thinkers, NYC team building activities create space for genuine connection, problem-solving, and (let’s be real) a lot of laughter. Scavenger hunts aren’t just fun—they build stronger teams, boost morale, and turn colleagues into collaborators.
